👓 Finally Some Legit AR Glasses // Color E-Ink Is Nice // Bulking Up The Team — 004

AR Glasses from the Sci-Fi Movies. The Boox Note Air3 C has been awesome. I'm trying to create more content while working a 9-5.

🗞️ SSP Channel News

I'm thrilled to announce that I've started a trial with a new business manager/assistant for the channel. It's exciting to be working with this person again; we've worked together in the past, and she's an amazing professional, super organized, and efficient. I'm eager to see how she can help organize the business side of the channel and also do some outreach to brands for more sponsored reviews of cool and helpful products. This should keep the money flowing and content coming for you all.

Ultimately, my goal is to focus entirely on creating videos, filming, and providing honest reviews, while delegating the business tasks, editing, and behind-the-scenes work to the team. As of now, we are a team of three, which is mind-blowing and super exciting. Thank you all for your incredible support, which has allowed us to grow in this way. With the addition of these new team members, I hope we can produce even more helpful and entraining content for you all.

Great review! Been eyeing one of these for a while. Was nice to see such an in-depth review.

“It is smart, and can do a lot. And by a lot, I mean it can be a ring that’s on your finger” I found your channel recently and have been watching through all your “dumb tech“ videos, so this is a perfectly timed laugh in my exploration of minimalist tech!

👓 More Thoughts on the Even Realities G1 Glasses

I'm super intrigued by the Even Realities G1 glasses. I've reached out to the brand a few times and had some back-and-forth communication. While they don't currently have an affiliate program, they mentioned keeping me on the list to potentially send me a pair for a full review once they have that set up.

I find the subtle nature of these glasses really interesting. Someone commented on this video that the glasses were terrible because they don't have a camera, but I'm not convinced that smart glasses need a camera. I'm curious to see if these glasses become something I use daily or if they end up being another device I forget to charge and rarely wear. I'll keep you updated on my experience once I get my hands on them.

💍 More Thoughts on the World’s First Dumb Ring

Last week, I made a satirical video about the world's first "dumb ring," throwing back to a few years ago when I created "The Most Minimalist Minimalist" videos. Some people took those seriously, not realizing they were meant as jokes. I'm not sure if this latest video hit the mark; it seemed to be a bit of a flop. But it wasn't really intended to be a standout piece of content—just something fun I decided to do.

I recently bought a Groove Life silicone ring for myself and thought it would be amusing to make a video about it “dumb ring”. There might be an unintended deeper message in the video: perhaps not everything in our lives needs to be a smart piece of tech. Regardless, I enjoyed the product and hope some people will buy it. I think Groove Life is a cool company, and I now own both a belt and a ring from them.

✍🏻 More Thoughts on the Boox Note Air3 C

I've been thoroughly enjoying the Books Note Air 3C from Onyx. This E Ink tablet has been great for taking notes during work hours and at church on Sunday mornings. The E Ink display makes for a pleasant experience, though it can be a bit slow when switching between notes and other tasks. However, I don't find this to be a significant drawback and it’s almost a welcome change of pace.

If you're planning to use this device for more than quick sketches, checking emails, and primarily taking notes, it might not be the best fit for you. The inclusion of full Google Play Store access is nice, but I'm not sure if most of the apps available are suited for this E Ink reader.

Overall, I've enjoyed collaborating with the Onyx team and look forward to potentially reviewing more of their products in the future if that's something you'd be interested in.

🧠 What I’m Currently Learning

Honestly, I'm not doing much practical learning right now—no sitting down to read a book, listen to a podcast, or watch a YouTube video. I simply don't have the time. However, what I'm learning is that I do a lot more for YouTube than I realized. Working with my new business administrator has highlighted just how time-consuming all these tasks are. It's not that they're hard or difficult, but they take up a lot of time.

I'm looking forward to delegating some of this work to others, though there’s always that initial phase where I need to double-check and ensure things are done correctly. I don't doubt my team's abilities; I just want to make sure things are done the way I do them so we can get the systems in place to make it all like clockwork and be as efficient as possible.

🙏🏻 Faith and Spiritual Insights

Honestly, I've been so busy with work and life that I haven't been focusing on my relationship with Christ as much as I should be. This is a terrible excuse.

I might have mentioned this before, but I'm looking forward to the school year starting up again. With the rhythm and schedules it brings, I'll actually have more time to be in the Word, even if it's just listening to it in the car on the way to work after dropping off the kids. That schedule worked really well for me, balancing all my different types of work, family time, and time in the Word and my relationship with God.

🥱 The Lazy YouTuber

As I mentioned above, Me and my editor, Ben, have created a course on how to start a YouTube channel, but with a twist.

We were so over all of the YouTube gurus out there showing you how to become a millionaire on YouTube complete with a 60 page guide, 90 hours of video lessons you needed to follow word for word, and a hefty price tag.

Ben and I love YouTube and we truly believe anyone with a passion and an iPhone (or Android, whatevvs) can start a sustainable and enjoyable channel that garners like-minded individuals and life-long connections.

It isn’t rocket science. In fact, you can do it all with some clicks of a button while in your underwear on the couch.

The course is now live on Skillshare (*ehem* which means “free” if you start a trial), and we would love it if you would check it out.
