😎 E-Ink Goggles // AirPods Pro But 1/4 Price // Hiring A Business Manager — 003

Imagine a Kindle for your eyes. Raycon Everyday Earbuds are actually really nice. Should I hire a business manager?

🗞️ SSP Channel News

I’m continuing to try and navigate the overwhelming, yet exciting landscape of brands reaching out and my own outreach efforts to secure review products for the channel. It's incredibly fun and humbling to be at a stage where I get paid for reviews. My commitment remains to provide open and honest feedback on products, always from a minimalist and intentional living perspective.

I'm considering hiring a business manager for the channel and have started discussions on what that might entail. I'm keenly aware of the unpredictable nature of this work, where sponsorship opportunities can be plentiful at times and scarce at others. To attract more sponsors, I'm focused on growing the channel and developing case studies that highlight the value of collaborations with me.

Balancing honest product reviews with the need to present products positively enough for people to consider purchasing them is a delicate act. I need to generate income to support the channel, my family, and any potential employees, while maintaining honesty and integrity for my audience.

As always, I truly appreciate your support and feedback. This is for the conscious consumer out there (you all ) as much as it is for me and my family! 🩵

Dude you just made a video of you reading a website that we’ve all read….

If I delete ig, youtube, fb etc… then I’ll have to sit with how boring my life is

🎥 Behind the Video

👓 More Thoughts on the Sol Readers

Last week, I made a video on the Sol readers, and I have some additional thoughts. The concept behind the Sol readers is quite interesting. My editor and great friend Ben and I have had many discussions about how minimalist and intentional products ironically have become somewhat maximalist.

Each new innovative product tends to have only one or two specific functions, leading us to accumulate multiple items that each do one thing.

I’m thinking about making a future video on this concept.

While this doesn't directly address the Sol readers, it does relate to them in that they are designed solely for reading. I'm eager to get my hands on a pair and provide an honest review, as always.

🎧 More Thoughts on the Raycon Everyday Earbuds

Last week, I reviewed the Raycon Every Day Earbuds, and I've continued to use them daily. They do have a few minor drawbacks compared to the AirPods Pro. One of the main issues is switching between my iPhone and my MacBook; sometimes I have to manually connect them in the Bluetooth settings on my computer. While it doesn’t take long, it’s something Apple’s ecosystem handles seamlessly with AirPods Pro.

Overall, I haven’t encountered any major problems and still enjoy using these earbuds. However, I do miss the feature from the AirPods Pro where playback automatically pauses when you take them out of your ears. With the Raycon earbuds, you need to manually hit the pause button on your device or double tap the earbud, which isn't a big deal but can be a bit annoying. For instance, when I take them out to talk to someone, the music or podcast continues playing, which can be a little frustrating.

🧠 What I’m Currently Learning

Professionally, I'm still figuring out how to balance my 9-to-5 job with this side project, which is going really well! It's an amazing time in my life where my passions are firing on all cylinders, and I feel like I'm doing the work I was meant to do.

On a personal note, I'm continuing to learn how to love my family well and address issues head-on instead of holding them in.

🙏🏻 Faith and Spiritual Insights

I'm continually amazed at how kind God is, even in difficult situations. His kindness shines through, even in unanswered prayers, because His response is always the kindest, no matter what.

Getting back into the Word in the mornings has been incredibly beneficial for me. I'm also enjoying living a life in the light, being open and honest, and having meaningful discussions with my wife and close friends.

🥱 The Lazy YouTuber

As I mentioned above, Me and my editor, Ben, have created a course on how to start a YouTube channel, but with a twist.

We were so over all of the YouTube gurus out there showing you how to become a millionaire on YouTube complete with a 60 page guide, 90 hours of video lessons you needed to follow word for word, and a hefty price tag.

Ben and I love YouTube and we truly believe anyone with a passion and an iPhone (or Android, whatevvs) can start a sustainable and enjoyable channel that garners like-minded individuals and life-long connections.

It isn’t rocket science. In fact, you can do it all with some clicks of a button while in your underwear on the couch.

The course is now live on Skillshare (*ehem* which means “free” if you start a trial), and we would love it if you would check it out.
